Brilliant Viral Commercial Pay$ You! ...how to hijack Dell's multi-million $ campaign!
I should probably feel bad for doing this, because Dell spent millions on this ad, but then again, I bought 7 Dell laptops last year for my employees and all the batteries went dead about a week after the warranty expired.
Check out this Dell commercial where your choice of Bert Reynolds, Chuck Liddell, Brooke Burke, Vivica Fox, Ice T, Estelle Harris (George's mom from Seinfeld) will send a video email to your friends, to convince them to contribute to your Dell computer fund for Christmas, and actually get them to send you some money by Paypal! Yep The Iceman himself will hit-up your pals for money!
Now, what was my first thought that emerged from my deviant marketing mind?

So I started reverse engineering it, and soon I will have completed my report to tell you all the reasons this campaign works so well, and how we can hijack it for our own use.
Did you notice the script that downloads your contacts from your address book? Well that is a key part of making this viral. I just had my Indian programmer Badmandu knock off a script which does exactly this, but it doesn't just do Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail like the Dell script, it also does 20 more email services plus social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Hi5...
